I think most of the time it's about reaching a point of total hopelessness.
I don't think that by the time someone is contemplating suicide they're actually thinking about anyone else.
I find the analogy to war rings so true and especially so for all the veterans and countless others who continually live with a never ending news reel going around and around in their heads reliving the most horrid of events.
