Default Awaiting apointment with MD specialist

My son is almost 9 years old. He started having problems squatting last year during baseball season, then he started having trouble running and walking. They found a stress fracture on the right side of his pelvic. His walking got better but he still complained of leg pain. Now this year he has started complaining about his ankles, feet, back, and neck hurting. When we took him back to his orthopedic the doctor noticed that he had decreased muscle strength in his hands and legs. He has referred him to a neuromuscular specialist at Vanderbilt medical center. Since last year we have notice that he walks on the balls of his feet and now it appears as though his right foot is turning inward. We noticed a couple of years ago that he look different than the other kids when runs and that he isn't as fast as the kids his age. We thought it was because he is tall for his age and hadn't grown into his legs yet. But now that his Dr. thinks he has some form of MD and I am reading about it everything seems to match the disease. We have two month wait as of now to the specialist but he is first on the list for new opening. Has anyone had theses symptom that seem to come on suddenly around age 8.
