Hang in there Debbie! I've been that way for years. It is very difficult for me to focus and concentrate or have conversations when there is a ton of background noise. I find that if I am fatigued it is far worse; therefore, if I am going somewhere that I know there will be a lot of noise I make sure I rest up and nap before going, if I can. I also go to places that tend to be quieter or go at times that I know they won't be busy. The library is great for that. I shop either really early in the morning or later in the evening. I don't go out to eat much but when I do I find that going after the lunch rush or before the dinner rush really helps. I can actually have a conversation AND keep track of it when it is quieter.
