Before I had L-dopa I could take when I needed, I saw a doctor who thought my problems was just run of the mill cramps (how he got that from "the urge to move my feet" I don't know) and so prescribed me cyclobenzaprine. One dose made the RLS get so bad that I could not sleep for 3 days, at which point I went to the ER and was given a couple days worth of Valium.
I got six hours of sleep, woke up and threw away the cyclobenzaprine. Never again will I take that crap!
Before that, though, I would rock my whole body back and forth and usually focusing on that and the movement that came with it was enough to get me to sleep.
