For some people nerve damage and paralysis can occur during surgery and this happened to LoriAnn. I haven't had surgery but was warned by my specialist that it was the worst case scenerio if I had surgery. The nerves in the brachial plexus must have been so damaged that the surgery did more harm than good there. My own surgeon is doing every scan and test possible to mentally pre plan my surgery but sometimes things don't show up on tests. LoriAnns story is one of the worst I have heard of apart from botched surgery from bad surgeons. I hope this helps answer your question

Thank you for your response....I am not on facebook but might just have to join.
I had surgery in Jan. 2011 which resulted in complications that required 2 further surgeries.....all 3 in the same surgical site, certain that all surgeries messed with nerves so much that I have ongoing problems and can not at this point find a solution.
