Luke,

I am just concern about how your primary, quickly gave you meds, without sending you to a specialist. Honestly, those meds can cause many of the symptoms you are complaining about.

From what I know about Topomax, is that it's a seizure med. Now, I get the notion that with bi=polar disorder, clonopin is a typical drug. But it sounds like you are either missing the anti-depressant or are on the wrong dosages. Blurred vision, slurred speech, blaming MS alone, when those meds can have side effects. Grrr..I am frustrated for you!!

I thought that Canada had universal health coverage, or did I misread, and you are from the States and someone else is from Canada and I jumbled posts in my memory?

Either way, for a primary care who is not a mental health specialist, to just diagnose you with bi-polar and start you off on meds and now you are having these side issues and your neurologist cannot explain them, then by my own logical brain, I am thinking...you are have side effect reactions to the Topomax and Clonopin med combination. And why not have him send you to a specialist to get your depression treated the right way, and cross all of our fingers, that it's not your MS flaring up, and it's a side effect reaction?!
