Since filing I have had more and more health problems: uncontrolled sleep apnea, high blood pressure and gout. My spine dr did an mri and it showed severe narrowing and nerve compression bilaterlly . That explained my numbness, burning and tingling down both legs. My knee dr says my left knee is bone on bone and nothing more can be done other than knee replacement. I have had 3 surgeries on that knee. He doesn't want to do the replacement because of my weight 435lbs. He prescribed a cane to help walking. About 14 months ago I started having trouble chewing and swallowing. At the same time my arms started to get weak from normal use, folding clothes, hanging up shirts etc. Spine dr ordered a cervical mri, results were smal herniation and moderate narrowing. She didn't think my chewing and tongue fatigue came from this. She sent me to a neurologist after several no conclusive test. He ordered a brain mri. It showed moderate cerebellar atrophy, much more than normal for my age 48. His dx was spinocerebellar ataxia. I am now waiting results from genetic testing.
Forgive my long post. My question is , SCA is an automatic qualifier for ssdi according to their website. Can't my lawyer just send my new dr report to social security, and this nightmare come to an end?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
I have went through a lot of things you have mentioned. When I finally found my Neuro and was dx with SCA after many years I was able to get my disability within months. Please make sure you send in every MRI, test result and Doctors report. I hope everything works out for you.
