I understand. I felt stupid when first using a cane. I was younger
and a sweet little kid said to his Mother, "Grandma has a cane
just like that".

Was also embarrassed the first time using a walker, a store scooter
and again with my own minivan with scooter & lift.

It was also a freeing feeling, as Sparky said.
