I had long talks about this with my GP. She told me that in all of her studies, they had spent exactly 8 hours on vitamins. Not on B12: all vitamins.
In hindsight, I could have spared myself a lot of trouble if she had reacted to my B12 level of
166 in 2007. (that's the downside of putting all your blood test results in a spreadsheet...

).
But with a limit of 200, it only seemed marginally low, and her advice was to eat more healthy food. No advice on the antacids I was eating like candy.
I don't blame her: my lifestyle was my own fault. OK, I blame her a little. But we talked this over, and I think she learned something from all this. I guess that's still better than a doc who just considers you to be stupid.
