There are many plant-based sources of protein... if it is a protein issue, you should not need to go back to eggs and dairy. Nuts, beans, tofu, and soy meats can provide you with plenty of protein. You can also find many vegan protein powders to make smoothies with.

Becoming vegan does require a change in the way you think about food. If you are having trouble getting started, I would recommend following a prescribed meal plan for a couple of weeks. One I really like is the Happy Herbivore. She has great meal plans that are delicious, filling, and nutritionally balanced. She also avoids processed foods.

I just really hate to see anyone go back to a food they know they are having problems with just because of a protein deficiency. There are plenty of ways to get protein from plants. That's where cows get all their protein from!!
