Hi Nancy,

Has the pain in the ear and jaw worsened over the last two weeks or is it basically the same?

Do you have any TMJ problems? You may or may not have mentioned this in a previous post... hard for me to remember everything that everyone writes.

It is quite common for people to complain about ear and jaw pain for a week or several weeks post op lower injections and/or extractions and usually it is TMJ or muscular related. As the injection is being given, the patient tenses up and the masseter muscle spasms. Sometimes this is felt immediately or not until the spasm tries to release... which can occur at any time, even weeks later.

Here is a site that explains the masseter muscle in laymans terms.

One way to help relax this muscle is to apply warm, moist compresses to the side of the face, along the jaw line and over the TMJ joint where the ear and the top of joint can be felt.

Homeopathically... what have you tried?
Here is a site with excellent recommendations...

What are your thoughts about this information?

Now, 2weeks later, my jaw and ear is in bad pain.
I have tried a Clonidine patch, but seem to be allergic to it ( and it didn't seem to help).
I have also been trying some homeopathic remedies for nerve injuries.
No relief yet.

Any ideas ?

I realize I 'should' have had blocks, but too late now..

Thank you, Nancy
