Both of those drugs have the same potential toxicity profile.
The only small benefit from Oxcarbazepine
is that it has slightly different metabolic pathways in the liver, so some of the drug interaction risks are lower for it.
Don't ever underestimate this drug... rare is not really rare.
Some terminology comes from the drug companies themselves and they don't reveal the truth often.
