if your neuro suggested IVIG as a treatment option, I would go for it

your neuro obviously is clinically suspicious of an autoimmune dx regardless of what your tests show or may not show

you have a family history + you have only been symptomatic for 6 weeks

the sooner you start IVIG the better the chance it may work and if it does it semi proves an autoimmune dx

just my $.02...ask your neuro Monday to start the insurance approval process to start IVIG

imo, the benefits of IVIG far outweigh any risks and may provide an answer to what is going on with you
