Those blue gel cold packs you may acquire in most pharmacies help. Time also helps and it costs less . No matter the size of the wound, you are dealing with a wound, and swelling nearly always goes hand in glove with a would [ even a couple of weekends ago when I fell from the tongue of our boat trailer as we were launching the boat and I had to be on the bow to release the tether hook- ripped off my left little toenail and a goodly amount of skin on the bottom side of the toe and sole there. Now, courtesy of my nerve damage, I did not feel a thing, BUT the foot swelled nevertheless and wearing even my crocs to work was a challenge for about ten days thereafter].

So...... time and blue gel thingies.....
