That is very unusual to give Clindamycin for a sore throat.

Are you sure it wasn't ciprofloxacin?

Cipro and other fluoroquinolones can cause nerve damage.

Did you take any antihistamines? In case it is an allergic reaction?

Staph infections can cause a severe sore throat. And so can viruses. Epstein Barr which is the mono virus causes a severe sore throat in some people. Antibiotics typically do not work for it, unless a secondary infection occurs. Did they do a mono-spot test on you to see if you have mononucleosis?
