As far as supplements, R-Lipoic Acid. Eliminated the need for gabapentin or anything else. Aside from supplements, avoiding triggers. I see mention that you don't tolerate RLA well, and I reviewed your thread on that, but I don't know how well it may have helped your burning otherwise. If it did, I think I'd keep trying to find a workaround, e.g. smaller dosages, non-stabilized form, mixing/combining into something else... might take some out-of-the-box thinking...

Re: ascorbic acid mentioned in that same thread... I don't recall if I've mentioned it to you or not, but I can't tolerate ascorbic acid either, however I do quite well on Ester C, which is calcium based. No heartburn at all.
