Welcome!
I'm so sorry you are under that depression cloud. I certainly know what it's like. Does your psychiatrist have you on a medication regime? One that works? Sometimes it takes several visits to get meds changed and adjusted to suit your needs. I too see a psychiatrist and they don't really spend the time 'talking and listening' as a psychologist would. It's important to be able to talk to someone who is specialized in these things and it's also important to have fellowship with others who can help lift your spirits and get you interested in life again.
When I am under that heavy dark cloud (as I call it

) it really CAN be hard to get motivated to do ANYthing. Try to set 1 or 2 small goals for the day, even something as trivial as doing the dishes or straigtening up a corner of the house. This can give us a sense of accomplishment and it's something to feel good about. Read an uplifting book perhaps.
The worst thing to do is become more and more isolated. I've made that mistake and it's not good.
It's good that you came here reaching out. We have a 'sister site' called Psych Central, which is much more active in the area of Depression. You might want to check it out.
I wish you the best and please just know that you are not alone in this.
The members here are very caring and understanding.
I'm glad you found us.
Caring,
Rae
