He is drinking a lot of wine? has always drunk a lot because if its alcoholic PN then he is in a vicious circle of pain relief from the wine followed by more PN damage, more pain and then more wine.

Also wine and meds especially the ones your hubby is on is a recipe for disaster

One or a combo of the meds/wine etc could be making him suicidal due to depression. I was very suicidal on elavil (anti depressant apparently) and got my life back when i quite it.

I think its pretty obvious the drinking has to stop first
