Smile Newbie here

Hi folks ~ Glad I found this site. I'm from the "other" forum, and haven't been too happy with it.

I usually go by Lee, but since it wouldn't take less than 4 letters to register here, I had to use another name. :icon_wink: I'm a recovering alcoholic/addict, and have over 13 years clean/sober but ONLY by the Grace of God and AA, plus people like you!!! I counted alot on the forums thru the years until things got screwy and I quit posting ~ and then I found YOU!

I hope we can be of help to each other, and perhaps draw others "out there" to chime in and join us! My life is an open book, so if anyone wants to know anything, feel free to ask. God bless, and I hope we can get this site really active! Hugs, Lee

Hey Lee

I have just found your email and I am happy you have found us. I am doing so far not too bad but having a really difficult time believing it. How are you Lady.

As you can see I haven't been able to in many ways let go of my grandson as yet hence the picture I use. His loony ex wife is still around so that enables us to see his daughter.

She is almost like a reincarnation of him. Identical to hilm at that age she is now 12.

I see you haven't been posting here often as yet and that is too bad. There are a lot of people who need your advice and insight. You were a godsend to me when I needed to understand.

So glad to hear from you in any case. Email all you want.

With the utmost respect for a caring and kind human being Thelma

Hi Lee..Im a sort of BrainTalk refugee myself..I post mostly on the Parkinsons forum, but I will check in here

Ive been doing ok, very active in AA and in the Parkinsons community..I was invited to Congressman Jim Lagevins press conference this past Tuesday an made a short speech about what the recently passed stem cell legislation means to the Parkinsons community..I was nervous for 3 days prior to the conference..I can speak in front of 200 alcoholics, but to speak at a political press conference I was shaking in my boots..Then while I was sitting there waiting for my turn to speak I remembered that this wasnt about me..and if not for the grace of God and AA, I wouldnt have been sitting there, and realized that being invited to that press conference was an unmerited gift of sobriety..Had I not found AA I would instead be the guy you see being arrained in court in pajamas, handcuffs, whiskey hairdo, bloodshot eyes, and 5 o'clock shadow

Life is good!
