Default Hi

Hi, I'm just going to give a bare bones outline of my issue. I've had too many bad experiences with forum bullies and stalkers to be willing to put things out for all to see.

I'd like to communicate by email and/or private messages with Al-anons who have held interventions for alcoholic loved ones. If things don't change, somebody is going to die. If you've been there, done that, I'd like to hear from you. I will totally respect your privacy.

O.S.

C'mon, all you people, what can you offer Older Sister in the way of intervention tips? Give us a hand?

Thanks AMN. I'll check for private messages frequently, over the next few days. It's truly an emergency situation, and we have to move fast.

I'm feeling better about things, now that I've formulated my plan.

I'm resorting to blackmail, if reason doesn't work. If I can't get the key family members on board with an intervention, I'm talking to the police. I have no other choice.

Sounds like a very sound idea.

Hi. I recently posted a subject "Trying to help a friend".
I'm in exactly the same position as you are. My friend is becoming an alcoholic because she can't cope with the fact that HER son is a full blown alcoholic.

She has tried EVERYTHING to get him into rehab. She has called the police numerous times. They tell her the exact same thing every time they come. As long as he is not commiting a crime, they cannot take him anywhere. It's the law.

So if YOU FIND SOMETHING THAT WORKS, will you please pass it on to me, and I'll tell her. She needs a reason to stop drinking. She only started because things got so bad at home. She's very new to this. Maybe if her son got the help he needs, she'll also go for help. Right now she's in MOM mode.

So when you find a way that works, let me know, okay?

Thanks much.

Melody
