3562 days sober

Yeah, it was a beautiful weekend here in the mountains! But, alas, I was stuck indoors most of it with my pneumatic stapler and 300ft of trim.

I did manage to spend an hour on the deck last night, sipping iced coffee, watching the sun set over the peaks...

Well, I have the exact same numbers as you! Only in a slightly different sequence: 3256.

Doing a bit better even though life is a turmoil at the moment. Found a new thing I can put my teeth in and perhaps earn some money with too. Glad to see my brain at 58 is still flexible enough to learn/dig into a completely new domain.

Probably helps said brain is no longer drenched in alcohol, and I'm exactly a month away from being 9 years sober. Feels good.

Yeah, I am 10 years behind you (next month) and I do NOT want to learn any new things...besides car stuff! I need some welding done and I am trying to work up the courage to take the grinder to my Roadmaster Wagon

My wife is throwing a "Decade Sober" party this summer. Got any travelling plans?

I'd love to learn how to weld and fabricate. I actually watched quite a few videos about it. A couple of guys bought a bog standard Mitsubishi Lancer wagon (115BHP), and turned it into a Lancer Evolution wagon (of which only 600 were ever made and sold in Japan) using parts from a salvaged (crashed) Evo, making about 520BHP on E95, with the full AWD system etc etc. Not an easy job . Thousands of spot welds to remove old panels and weld on the (much wider) new panels. It's truly an art.

But ... I think it's a bit late to start all that now.

Careful, or you have a 6'7" European at your door! Sadly, there's this little thing called Covid, I don't know if you heard about it. Also I'm skint (but that will change soon). However: sounds like a great idea, and I'm going to keep this in the back of my mind. I mean we can always go for an extra "joint party" when I'm near my "Decade", right?

I have 3 invitations standing for the US and Canada, and it's getting a bit rude from my end to keep saying "sorry!". But I'll PM you the gory details as to why/how, and how/when that might change.

3592 days sober!

Just got back from 10 days in the Arizona desert and, yes, it was hot. High of 101F (38C) on a couple of the days, but there was always a nice breeze so it was quite tolerable. Toured a Cold War missile silo, hiked a mountain, visited Tombstone and spent some quality time with family. Lots of walking, lots of water and many laps in our private pool.

As I approach 10 years sober I am thankful, and grateful, that I have a place to post my monthly triumphs! Not many would understand...

Thanks everyone!

Not many indeed.

For me it's 3287 days, or shorter: 9 years today. A week or so ago, I also passed the 100K EUR mark not spent on booze and cigs.

So yeah, I'm gonna continue this run.

I’m not going to ask wat Cornhole is. It’s not the Beavis & Butthead one I assume?

Good job anyway!
