I have the shakey legs always. In my mind that is my worst symptom. It is VERY encouraging that I can hopefully improve. Thanks for that IceHouse. I needed to hear that. 👍

I have a question for a lot of you with more time and knowledge on all of this. What are the thoughts on alcohol in food prep? I have an aunt who I am finding out uses libations in food. At Thanksgiving and Christmas, she mentioned using peppermint schnapps for a frosting when she was out of peppermint extract. That honestly didn’t seem to be an issue.

I know I also have the “confounding variable” of an adverse antibiotic reaction, and it causes flares at random. I could tell I had a small fiber flare starting before Easter. I also found after the fact that my aunt’s delicious bacon had a brown sugar/bourbon glaze. And as she put it, you mix it thick.

I am sure in the grand scheme, the peppermint frosting was negligible in amount. The bacon glaze might be too, but thought I would see what some of you feel about just how sensitive alcoholic neuropathy symptoms are to even things like this?

In general, it’s crazy how neuropathy has been for me. A month ago I felt pretty normal and had actually bought some new dumbbells for my workouts. Lots of ups and downs…

It doesn't bother me at all. I don't think I would go for a cold liqueur over ice cream, but cooking spirits have zero effect on me.

Not much to update....we have a couple trips planned this month. Heading to NC to watch some old school VW drag-racing and then off to PA for some theatre.....

Gym time is going well and the shaky legs have not returned in months now! Yay!

I appreciate the response. I didn’t really think that was likely a huge issue in such a small concentration, but was at least curious to get some thoughts on the matter.

And I know we are past the 2nd, so it was good to see another update from you!

Almost a cool 4000. But, this is not nearly as cool as Wide-O and has DECADE coming up!

Gym is going good. I jogged a little this week. Weird.

Looking forward to a week trip to the shore at the end of the month!

One decade: check!

Ten years ago I couldn't wait to finally get into rehab on the 14th. For some reason it seemed important to me to not drink the day before, so 6/13/2012 was the first sober day.

I was incredibly motivated, but also scared out of my mind. Not for rehab: for possibly not making it. That combination of motivation and fear turned out to be a good one.
