Default Complete Insanity From Only a Couple of Beers?

I'm male and I have a problem where if I only drink a couple of beers I go completely insane and my moods are all weird. I do horrible things that I think are rational at the time but are not. Has anyone experienced this?

I've never had it happen but have known some who became angry and mean when they were drinking. Did this just start happening and is it only with beer?

Default Hello zant808

Some people cannot tollerate alcoholic beverages. Are you a Native American? Native American friends of mine just loose control of themselves with beer, and other alcoholic beverages.

It's also heredity. My Dad was a alcoholic, and when I drank beer,I became a alcoholic too. I stoped drinking over 20 years ago. It was a necessity for me. Some people have to stay away from drinking alcohol all together. BF

People who cannot tolerate alcohol may have a genetic
error of metabolism:

If it is only beer, then I would seriously explore gluten intolerance. This can cause all sorts of neurological problems:

http://jccglutenfree.googlepages.com/

People with severe anxiety that does not respond well to medications may have a condition called pyroluria. It can cause many alarming mood swings, and is due to a low level of B6 and zinc in the body. It is easily tested for and treated.
http://www.drkaslow.com/html/pyroluria.html

There are people who have genetic differences in how they
metabolize drugs. Since you are posting about this, I'd get the DNA testing done so you will KNOW for sure if you have this.
examples:
http://www.healthanddna.com/healthca...enotyping.html

This chart shows occurance values for various ethnic groups:
http://www.genemedrx.com/CYP450Table.php

http://www.jpnonline.com/view.asp?rID=24226

https://www.dnadirect.com/profession...e/why_test.jsp

People vary in how they metabolize drugs and other substances that they consume. If you have unusual responses then it would be best to find out why.
This testing could save alot of grief and suffering down the road for you.

I can't tolerate beer, either. Could be the wheat?

To Add: This isn't something that occurred overnight, either. After my 20year mark for starting alcohol is when I developed this intolerance for the stuff. It's called alcoholism.

Then of course, comes the making a complete fool of yourself. And the blackout is the worst. *hmph* Of course, then you are just no longer in control of yourself; that's what is so scary about it.

I hope you find the answers that you need. Hope to see you around board more often. I'm back from hiatus.

In cases where a person is starting to develope cirrhosis of the liver, the liver can not process alcohol anymore therefore what normally may take 24 beers to reach a level of insane behavior only takes a beer or two. The behavior a person exhibit when they are under the influence of alchol, is the result of being under a mind altering substance. It isn't the person true personality. I have been sober for 14 months with the help of AA. I suggest gettin yourself to an AA meeting and just listening to the people share you will soon realize you are not alone. best wishes

The people posting below have some excellent suggestions as to causative factors. As for treatment . . . .don't drink a couple of beers - or even one.
