Default Need some advice for a friend.

I am trying to get more information so I can post it here but what I have so far is the following.

My friend had gerd, got a tooth pulled, (this happened in January), and thus far has a swollen lip and swollen eye.

They have ruled out 10 allergens so far but they still can't find out what she is allergic to.

I just heard about this tonight and I wrote to her asking "did the swollen eye and lip happen AFTER the tooth was pulled or BEFORE.

And she has Gerd.

So I don't know the timeline involved here, but can having a tooth pulled cause damage someplace that can result in swelling of the eye and lip or does this have to be an allergic reaction.

This sounds like it would be a good storyline for HOUSE.

I'll come back when I get more information and a better timeline of the events.

Thanks

Melody

Okay, this is what she just wrote me:

"I've ruled out any "newer" toiletries, oral hygiene, cosmetics, hair care, etc. and am only using products I've used for at least as little as 2 years and as many as 10+. On the last four occasions I did have "welt-type" mosquito bites (Florida living). I read at webmd that these symptoms can be associated with bug bites, allergic reaction (no kidding), new medications, etc. The only new med is Omeprazole (Rx dose for OTC Prilosec) but I had the symptoms before I started it. Keep in mind I have had allergic reactions to many, many products since I was a teen. I can't use Dial soap to this day. Can't most Olay products nor Clinique's toner for example because it has "witchazel" in it. I can't use most of Avon's products especially their Anew line (my sister-in-law sells it). However, that being said, I usually get either an immediate reaction (less than 24 hrs.) or as much as using it for a couple of weeks before I notice an allergic reaction. When that happens, it is "both" eyes or "both" lips; not one eye or one lip only like I get now. I've thrown out newer mouthwash, lipsticks, shampoos, and still having the problem. I've always been susceptible to "breakouts" like hives or abnormal reactions to the common bug bites. I think that covers it. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know"

So I gather that we can't help her because she has a history of being allergic to everything. I wonder if there is a product line (other than Almay) that is gentle enough for her to buy their products.?

What do you all use?

Thanks,

Melody
