Confused nickel allergy

I have recently been diagnosed as have a nickel allergy which (this time)presents as a welt-like rash on my legs and turso, extremely dry skin, hugely itchy and it appears to last 10 - 14 days - dr recommends treating it with RX skin creams - I'm still processing the whole thing but would like to hear from others who have this allergy and how best to live with it - it this point I can't even figure our how/where I get it -

Default Nickel allergy and contact dermatitist

I have a contact nickel allergy. I can't wear anything with nickel in it. I get a rash from it. I had the metal testing by an allergist and had a significant reaction from it. I get my glasses in titanium because I would break out on my nose and by my ears. I can't wear cheap earrings. I have knee replacements but the percent of nickel is so low that they say it does not create a problem. I am not sure that I believe them because I still have some pain and problems with both knees. Its handleable but there.

I do know some foods contain nickel. You might want to research that and see if removing them from your diet might help. I have had no problems with that but I have heard of some people that have.
