Trophy Drink Bitchin' Bitter to help former CBC head brewer Darryl Goss fight ALS

Drink Bitchin' Bitter to help former CBC head brewer Darryl Goss fight ALS

Beer News posted by Todd / 07-03-2007

He was probably brewing before many of you got into (better) beer, but Darryl Goss was the brewer at Cambridge Brewing Company (CBC) for most of the 90s and was recently diagnosed with ALS.

This just came in from his friend Geoff Larsen, my pal, friend of Darryl and ex-resident of the People's Republic of Cambridge:

--

Help support former Cambridge Brewing Company head brewer Darryl Goss and the ALS-TDI 2007 Tri-State Trek!

For every pint of CBC’s Bitchin’ Bitter, first created by CBC brewer Darryl Goss in 1991, CBC will donate 50 cents towards Darryl and his team of riders as they participate in this year’s Tri-State Trek.

Darryl Goss, CBC Head Brewer from 1990 thru 1997, was diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, in February 2006. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord. From July 20th thru July 22nd, 2007, Darryl, his partner Robin, and several family members and friends will make the 270 mile trek from Boston to New York, to cure ALS and support the ALS Therapy Development Institute, right here in Kendall Square, Cambridge.

Your purchase of each pint of CBC’s Bitchin’ Bitter will help further Darryl’s fundraising goal of $7,000.

Additional information on ALS can be found at http://www.als.net

More on the Tri-State Trek is available at http://www.tristatetrek.com

To donate directly to Darryl Goss’s TST Team, go to http://www.active.com/donate/Trek2007/d0goss

Thank you for your support!

If anyone is up for planning a Bitchin' Bitter drinking session ... post here or drop me a beer mail. I think it'd be a great way to rally and show some support.

Thanks,

Todd
