I wonder if the incidence of ALS is lower in Vermont?

If you are from the Northeast, you know at least two big things Vermont is known for is Maple Syrup and Skiing:

You may not realize the Maple Leaf if prominently displayed on the Canadian Flag:

Most often referred to as C. elegans, Caenorhabditis elegans:

. . . and with the Drosophila melanogaster:

are among the most studied organisms in neurology.

Cornelia Bargmann recently won the Sholnick prize for their work showing in part what the 302 neurons, 6393 Chemical Synapses and 890 gap junctions of C. elegans can do.
