Red face Venous thromboembolism . . .

ALS patients are more vulnerable to Venous thromboembolism; here are some journal papers on this issue . . . one patient suffered from resultant pulmonary embolism and died after implant of pacer . . . they also had history of blood clots. Few patients have encountered this issue based on their online comments.

Smile Could Diaphragm Pacing decrease risk of Venous Thromboembolism?

Venous thromboembolism in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis

Venous thromboembolism in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis | Neurology

Article shows Venous thromboembolism risk as high as 35% per year in some amyotrophic lateral sclerosis patients . . .

Improved ventilation may show decreased risk . . . although there could be linkage with the treatment critical authors showed none and decrease is statistical plausibility . . . they have long been concern of care providers, far longer than diaphragm pacer was available . . . the best medians achieved so far in clinical study groups are of pacing patients.
