What You Eat May Help Lower Risk For Lou Gehrig's Disease

Monday, Oct 1, 2007 @07:50am CST

(New York, NY) -- Today's health tip -- lowering your risk for Lou Gehrig's disease.

A recent study says including lots of polyunsaturated fat and vitamin E in your diet may help reduce your risk of developing the neuromuscular disease.

Researchers in the Netherlands compared the diets of about 130 patients with Lou Gehrig's disease and 220 healthy "controls." A food frequency questionnaire was used to evaluate their eating habits.
