Monday, December 17, 2007 PEOPLE, HONORS Accomplishment The Alabama Chapter of the ALS Association has been awarded full chapter status by the national office of the nonprofit organization. The Alabama Chapter, based in Huntsville, helps those affected by ALS statewide, and also offers support to out-of-state family members and friends by providing information about the neuromuscular disease, as known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Russell D. Bradford, M.D. has joined the UAB Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases as assistant professor of pediatrics. Honors The Kirklin Clinic received the Level 2-Progress Towards Excellence Award during the Alabama Quality Award annual conference and award ceremony. The Kirklin Clinic, a member of UAB Health System, is the first ambulatory care center in the state to receive the award, which recognizes organizations that have sustained commitment and application of performance excellence principles and practices.
