Couple's wedding dream comes true Alice McKeegan 15/ 2/2008 A DREAM came true for the perfect couple when they married on the most romantic day of all – Valentine’s Day. Sharon Dunn and Nicolas Jones enjoyed a romantic ceremony surrounded by their friends and family at the Town Hall Register Office. It was an extremely emotional day for the ex-school dinnerlady and her partner of 20 years. Sharon, who suffers from Motor Neurone Disease, was given just two days to live in December when Nicolas popped the question at her hospital bedside. She was determined to walk down the aisle to their favourite song, Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers, but disaster almost struck when they forgot the music. However, their friend Jeff Williams stepped in and gave a pitch-perfect rendition to the amazement of everyone at the ceremony. Sharon said: "It was wonderful, but very emotional. We didn’t have the music, but Jeff sang instead and it made me cry. "The wedding was everything that I imagined it would be and it was even more perfect that we married on Valentine’s Day." Her six-year-old granddaughter Katie was a flower girl at the ceremony, which was followed by a reception at the Talbot Head, Shawclough. Sharon, who lives in Shawclough, was diagnosed with MND, a progressive muscle wasting disease which causes loss of mobility in limbs and difficulty breathing, a year ago after experiencing a twitching sensation in her arm. Her new husband Nicolas was overwhelmed by the ceremony and even admitted to shedding a few tears when he saw Sharon coming down the aisle. He said: "I think it was emotional for everyone here. We’ve been together for so long, but it was nice to finally get married." They are planning to jet off to Lanzarote for a two-week honeymoon this weekend with her parents, Audrey and Bernard Dean, and their son 10-year-old, Reece. http://www.rochdaleobserver.co.uk/ne...eam_comes_true
