Hundreds remember fallen B.C. officers
Vancouver Sun
Published: Sunday, September 28, 2008

METRO VANCOUVER - Several hundreds family members and officers from across B.C. and Washington state honoured the province's 106 fallen police and peace officers Sunday afternoon at Peace Arch Park.

Chaplain Jim Turner said it was blessing that no names were added to the list in the past year.

Const. John David Goyer, who died on April 19, 2006, was the last fallen officer. He died of Lou Gehrig's disease, an illness triggered from an injury suffered while on duty 41/2 years ago.

The memorial service, in its 11th year, was one of several across the country.
