Ribbon Chef Cook-Off For Charity

Chef Cook-Off For Charity

A valley restaurant chain held their first top chef competition tonight to help raise money for a Hermitage resident living with Lou Gehrig's disease.

All three chefs from all three Springfield Grills came out to compete in an iron chef type competition.

This afternoon they were told the three surprise ingredients they would have to use, and then they were off to come up with some culinary delights to tempt the judges.

Our very own Jennifer Jefcoat was one of the celebrity judges tonight, and tells us she enjoyed every bite.

All proceeds from tonight's cook-off will benefit the Stephen Comenohs fund.

Stephen is battling Lou Gehrig's disease and mounting medical bills.

"His medical bills are eight thousand dollars a month and we're hoping to help with those medical bills. He is undergoing experimental treatments right now, so we're hoping this helps his family out," says Teresa Decker from Springfield Grille in Mercer.

In case you're wondering, the top chef prize went to the Springfield Grille in Boardman!
