Health 2.0 Health Leaders To Converge On Cambridge; Ben Heywood, Co-Founder, PatientsLikeMe To Keynote the Health 2.0 Northeast Forum
Health 2.0 Northeast Forum BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On October 7th, at the Cambridge Marriot, The Health 2.0 Northeast Forum (http://www.healthforum2.com) will bring local industry leaders from health care, finance, academia, technology, and related fields together for one event in unparalleled fashion to explore Health 2.0 – its impact on the healthcare system and its role as a driver of the regional economy. Super star panelists will include keynote Ben Heywood Founder of PatientsLikeMe (www.patientslikeme.com); Jack Barrette, CEO of Wego Health (www.wegohealth.com); Matthew Jarman, VP of American Well Health (www.americanwell.com), Stan Novak CEO, Silverlink Communications (www.silverlink.com); and Aaron Day, Chairman & CEO of Tangerine Wellness (www.tangerinewellness.com); Robert Reid, President of Endovascular Forum (www.endovascular.org). To date, no other event has gathered such an accomplished group of representatives from leading e-health companies in the Boston area to one event dedicated to the promotion and development of the Health 2.0. The hottest area of web 2.0 is the rapidly expanding global health sector. The merging of IT, social networking and health care is transforming the way we live our lives and the Boston-metro area is leading the way. Mega players such as Google Health and Microsoft have recently entered partnerships with some of the Northeast's leading hospitals and companies. New England is clearly positioned to remain a leader in this technology sector. The Forum will focus on the big question of the day – What's Next For Health 2.0? With healthcare costs continuing to spiral, employers cutting back on benefits, higher and higher deductibles and more and more decisions for the consumer, there will continue to be a great demand for the new technologies and consumer tools that comprise Health 2.0. What companies succeed and fail, are acquired by large established healthcare companies or remain as viable stand alone businesses is currently a question of great debate. “The success of the debut Health 2.0 Northeast event is testimony to the fact that this is a rapidly evolving area with significant issues yet to be addressed,” said Vincent Caprio, President, New York NanoBusiness Alliance. “This year’s Health 2.0 Northeast will once again provide a platform for these critical discussions, all with an eye toward building the region into a dominant force in this space.” At the Health 2.0 Northeast Forum, panelists will share their stories, comment on their successes and failures and evaluate where the industry stands today. Boston's industry leaders will share their thoughts on "Where are we now? How do we get to ROI? (Are we there yet?) How is Health 2.0 empowering consumerism? Is Health 2.0 going to significantly impact the US healthcare crisis? What do we need to due to cross the chasm to truly contain costs and improve quality and what is the potential role of Health 2.0? How do we get there?" Health 2.0 Northeast is a regional networking group loosely affiliated with the larger San Francisco based Health 2.0 Conference (www.health2con.com). The next Health 2.0 Conference is coming up on Oct 22-23 in San Francisco. Matthew Holt, Health 2.0 Conference Co-founder and Author of The Healthcare Blog (www.thehealthcareblog.com), is very excited that people are getting together in many cities to discuss Health 2.0. According to Holt, “The Health 2.0 Northeast group is clearly the most advanced regional group, and the lineup for this meeting is superb--with many of the shining stars of Health 2.0 on the agenda.” For more information on the event and to get tickets go to: http://www.healthforum2.com
