Walk to defeat ALS held Saturday

Posted: 37 minutes ago

Durham, N.C. — The ALS Association Jim “Catfish” Hunter Chapter held its annual Triangle Walk on Saturday to Defeat Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, commonly known as Lou Gerhig's disease.

Over 600 participants took part in the event at Credit Suisse in Research Triangle Park.

The first annual Barbara Bradley Award was presented to WRAL's Debra Morgan for her help raising awareness of ALS.

The Nancy Clements team also took home three awards for: largest team, highest team fundraising and highest individual fundraiser, which was almost $8,000.

The event raised over $107,000 for research and to help ALS patients.
