It's a party.
It's in a park.

So the name of the third annual Party in the Park couldn't be more on target. And neither could the beneficiary, the Steve Simonson Foundation and the South Texas Chapter of the ALS Association.

A longtime public servant in Schertz, Simonson was a city councilman who resigned two months before he died from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's disease, in December. His friends helped establish the foundation to help fund research for the incurable disease, which affects the nervous system.

But what's a party without music?

That's where Cory Morrow, one of the hottest stars on the Texas Music scene, comes in. He'll hit one of the two stages at 8:15 p.m. Saturday at Pickrell Park, FM 1518 and Oak Street in Schertz.

With the party beginning at 3 p.m., others on the bill include Jason Allen, Mingo Saldivar, Red Sauce Rules, Duke Davis and Jokester . Johnny Dee & The Rocket 88s will close out the evening with rock oldies at 10:30.
