Default Every Day Is Precious

Marcy's Fight Against ALS

http://www.everydayisprecious.com/

This web site is designed to help you find hope. It shows how you can choose to learn about your situation and then act on the knowledge you find. It is to remind us of what it says in Deuteronomy 30:19:

I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live

August 15, 2000 Marcy Payne, a 37 year old mother of 2 small children, was diagnosed with ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease. Marcy has chosen to live.

This web site has recorded and will continue to record her triumph over this fatal disease in an effort to help others.

We will update this site often. We hope you share your stories of triumph so we can post them on this site as well. Simply click on Shared Stories and tell us yours.

If you find this site interesting and know someone with a chronic illness, forward this URL to them - or tell them to go to everydayisprecious.com - and spread the word.

Some of the buttons to the left are explained below:

Pray for Marcy - The biggest blessing we have received is the covering in prayer. This page leads to our current specific prayer request.

How to Help - Shares ideas on how people have helped us and how anyone can help others in need.

Email Journal -To help communicate the blessings that have come with God's promise to beat this disease and to pass on some details of our experiences, we wrote a series of emails and sent them to family and friends. This is a chronological list of the emails we sent and a chronicle of our journey. It also keeps Marcy from having to tell the same stories over and over and makes sure we don't leave anything out when we talk to friends. The frequency of emails decreased when we started doing our daily updates. Click here to see the latest daily log entry. You'll need a password - if you don't have one, just email me.

Our Blessings - So many good things have come from beating this

Thumbs up

Every Day Is Precious is a column to remind us to treat everyone we see today as if it could be the last time we see them. It is written by Rob Payne, whose wife, Marcy, was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) in August 2000. Now 43 years old, she has gone from winning 5K and 10K races to being quadriplegic and on a ventilator at home. For a collection of these columns in book form, more ways to help others, more about Marcy or to receive e-mail updates, visit www.EveryDayIsPrecious.com.
