Default Locked In Syndrome

My son Jason(16) became paralyzed after colliding with another soccer player when he was just 7 years old. ( a bloodclot developed in the basilar artery)

He became locked-in. The only movement left was the blinking of the eyes.

ALS is also known to lead to Locked-In Syndrome, so that's why I am posting in this forum.

((((((Faye)))))),

I've pulled together a few URLs into my online bookmarks. You might want to take a look: http://public.murl.com/moose53/HEALT...ED-IN_SYNDROME

Interestingly, there was just an article in the news recently about using Viagra for locked-in syndrome stroke patients to see if they will/can grow new nerve and blood connections: http://www.wzzm13.com/news/news_arti...?storyid=71287

You might also want to read about Hero Joy Nightingale http://www.robotwisdom.com/jorn/hojoy/. She's got major **ATTITUDE**

Hugs. And welcome to NeuroTalk.

Hi Faye,

Welcome, I have ALS but I read and follow your posts with great interest on Care Cure. You are a true warrior advocate and I truly believe that Kerr's and Kerstead's research as well as a few other's will benefit both ALS and SCI.

Also contact the MGH ALS Clinic http://www.massgeneral.org/pubaffair...6ALSclinic.htm contact Matt Bellanich, NP, at (617) 726-8741.

Good luck!
