Default Garden space

Garden space

On her MySpace page ( www.myspace.com/kimbomcs), 28-year-old Kimberly McSpadden irreverently describes herself:
"I'm not handicapped. I'm just really lazy!"

She has ALS, better known as Lou Gehrig's disease, and she's mostly paralyzed.

Her online activity is one of the main ways she keeps in contact with the outside world.

She shares a house in Spring Branch with her sister and her brother-in-law, and their three children.

The sister, Kathleen Hall, contacted the paper to talk about a project they're trying to finish.

See, one of McSpadden's loves is watching birds and butterflies through her window. So, Hall and her husband, Kyle, are trying to make a big, colorful garden to attract more birds and butterflies — and to give her something pretty to watch.

Hall is asking for help and expertise in putting together the garden, whether it's dirt, sod, plants, seeds, excess construction supplies, etc.

If you have any materials and want to help, contact Hall at (830) 885-2767.
