Benefit for Lou Gehrig's disease

Work is nearly finished on a house at The Palisades that will help fight Lou Gehrig's disease.

Palisades developers and a builder there are selling the three-story, $816,000 home to benefit the PinStripes Fund, which supports the Carolinas Neuromuscular/ALS-MDA Center.

Part of the proceeds will help pay for research and care for people with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a motor neuron disease also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

The home is 5,200 square feet, with five bedrooms, 5 1/2 bathrooms, a three-car garage, hardwood floors and views of Lake Wylie.
