Default Question??

I have a very close friend who, along with her two daughters, has Myotonic Dystrophy. My question is.....Is M.D. related to ALS. I have seen the two diseases in an article os something somewhere, but I cannot remember where so I figured that I would come to the experts to have my question answered!!!!!Any help would be appreciated. My friend and her kids do not have a specialist and are not on any medication. Her youngest daughters MD is quite severe and I thought if I could find out more facts from people who know then I may help her understand ( the mom) what the disease is all about. Any help is truly appreciated!

the multiplcity of the conditions that can be related to this disease require she and her children get the medical help they need. It is an inherited disease that has some resemblance to Als but is not related.

I repeat if lyou want to help her and the kids see that she gets the medical care they need. There are multiple problems connected to this disease.

Here is a canadian site for you to find help.
