John,
I think it was the title of the thread that drew everyone in..at least it was for me anyway...
I think it is natural for people to want to try to help..but sometimes we just can't convince a person to seek out the type of help they need......eventually we figure that out...
But, I agree the people that need the most "practical " help and emotional support are those with the disease....Lisa

dear Lisa pointed out that I was mixing up 2 different forums--the ALSFORUMS and ALSTDF--and indeed I was; I thought they were one forum--not noticing the difference in web sites (how can one be so unobservant?)--all is resolved. i am so very sorry for involving anyone in this. I was just dismayed that good science would be censored from a site. Have learned some sites are for scientific sharing as well as support and others are just for support. thank you all for your tolerance. sincerely madelyn
