Suna Kıraç's sacrifice

Suna Kıraç, who has not met with the press for six years due to her illness, broke this prohibition for her husband.

Suna Kıraç was with her husband İnan Kıraç at the ceremony where he was awarded with a medal and a certificate due to the 50th anniversary of his graduation from Galatasaray High School.

Her eyes are working on a new giant project

The symbol of working Turkish women, the vice chairman of the Koç Holding Administration Council, Suna Kıraç, is about to implement the project she has wanted the most, building a giant cultural center, with the help of her husband, İnan Kıraç.

Suna Kıraç is one of the most memorable people in the Turkish business world. She can now only communicate using her eyes as she has the ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) disease. We wanted to include her in our series "The most powerful women of Turkey;" and asked her husband, İnan Kıraç about what made her a successful businesswoman. He said: "Vehbi Koç is the person who contributed most to her status in the business world; her daughter, İpek who kept her alive; Arçelik and the support she made to education." The founder of Koç Holding, Vehbi Koç, got her involved in the business world and violated a taboo at that time; as it was a disgrace for the daughters of rich families to work. Koç changed this viewpoint and made his daughter be very successful in the business world. Suna Kıraç had an active role in developing a family company into an international institution and made great efforts in Arçelik's becoming a global giant without a foreign partner.
