Default Away From Her

Has anyone else seen this movie? I was rather disappointed in it, maybe because it had such raves reviews...critical acclaim.

The acting was wonderful Julie Cristy was especially good but the story line seemed contrived.

I was considering renting that today and ended up backing out because I was worried about ending up in a boo-hoo fit (I've been exceptionally emotional as of recent).

Was it just bad, inaccurate, boring, etc?

Ever since I've seen the House of Sand and Fog, I've been very careful when renting movies.

Ellie it's an excellent movie...just not our experience with alzheimers. I thought initially that the husbands denial was right on but her evolving
attachment to the new man at the home was contrived imho. It's a heartbreak in real live without the romance drama....I'd rent it if I were you and then please let me know what you think.

Well I had to revisit this thread after hearing about Former Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day OConner who retired from the court to care for her husband with altzheimers. They were a devoted couple for years and he deteriorated rapidly, had to be put in an altzheimers care facility...he was suicidal. He has fallen in love with another resident and they act like 16 yr. old kids in love. That classy Sandra Day OConner is happy for him. Now that's love! ~sigh

I guess it's more common than I knew so my apology for the review of "Away From Her".

Default Yup-

I read about that!!! That is love!!

That would be hard though, to let go of that selfishness.
For me anyway, it would be hard.
