Default Statins

Thank you for the info on the statin drugs. I have a relative that had taken lovastatin? for several years, and we noticed she had begun to have a personality change, memory issues(repeating the same thing over, forgetting she had already talked to us about it, she would do it, maybe 10times within an hour). She is diabetic and we told the doctor about this and for many years they dismissed us, and said ,this is Normal Aging. Well, now they say she has Alzheimers, and strangely enough, they have PULLED her off the lovastatin! I questioned them why change of meds? and never got a response. I had them pull and send all her med records to me, and If this is true that statins do this, why are they still risking folks brains with it? I just dont understand these doctors! My relative is young 69, and we noticed this happening at age 66, when we first reported this to her doctor. It got so bad,she forgot to take her meds for 3 weeks and ended up in ER with bp dangerously low/near coma at 60/50. I know very little about alzheimer, other than it is progressive and fatal and no cure, her doctors, are of little help.

Post many doctors still don't know...

Please visit this website for Dr. Cohen's opinion:

Why don't doctors take patients complaints about statins seriously?

This is a serious question. And unfortunately, the answers to it are pretty disturbing.
