I am a man obsessed. In 2007 I had a craniotomy where they did a bypass of the basilar artery and clipped a 2nd aneurysm (such an overachiever this one) and I was supposed to be "fixed." Sure there was some residual bits of balance trouble, but I was working through that.
3 weeks ago I had a stroke and after the angiogram it appears that the clip on number 2 has slipped and the first one that was stented is growing again. Actually both are. The surgeon said he would not recommend surgery yet, but if at my planned three year follow up they were still growing he would recommend doing another craniotomy and shutting down the basilar artery once and for all. So now I live terrified that anything I do will pop them. Researching my brain and obsessing over it has become number 1 in my life over family and work. "Well, think about what you can do not what you can't" is what I am told. Pretty hard to do when things to remind me are jumping up and slapping me in the face all day long. How do I know if they are leaking? What can I do? You guys "get it" and understand the he!!. Thanks for letting me whine.

Cheri:
Thanks for the note. From what I am told by Neurosurgeons my guy is the "God of Neurovascular Surgery" I have heard the Cleveland Clinic is also a good place to be. Now, about getting some coconut bars from Davis Bakery, but that is for another time. I am scred to go to sleep and this morning I woke up terrified. Yesterday I saw my surgeon here in San Diego and my aneurysms could pop at any time. But the Guy who did my cranie wants to see if I have any incidents or if they grow by next summer when I have my planned angiogram. I just know a 2nd one is coming, it so cramps my plans. ;-) I hope the best for you as well. Darryl
