Default Sleep apnea & aneurysms

Ten yrs ago I had a ruptured brain aneurysm. Two weeks prior to my aneurysm I had a sleep study test - no apena.
Fast forward to this past April - I met with a new neuro who specializes in strokes. Right off he sent me for a sleep study test. It turns out I have the rarer of the two sorts of apena - central apnea. Basically my brain is forgetting to have me breathe while I sleep......and it's fairly severe.

The CPAP machine helps - still getting used to it. Anyone else have anything similar?

Hello Sheisred,

I see you have posted here in the past, but I just wanted to say welcome back
to the NeuroTalk Support Groups and to let you know that there is a

Sleep Apnea & Sleep Disorders Forum

here as well and you may get more replies regarding the
Apnea and the CPAP if you post over there as well.

I know there are also members in the TBI/PCS forum who use CPAP.

Let us know if you need any help finding your way around.

Take care.

I guess I didn't finish my thoughts correctly in my original posting. I guess the guestion remains...did anyone else get diagnosed with central apnea as opposed to obstructive apena AFTER their bleed?

It is utterly amazing at how much better I feel with the CPAP machine....
