Hello Everyone,

I'm new here and will briefly tell my story. It was after reading some of the stories that I decided to go ahead and register. I'm hoping someone somewhere may have some ideas that can spark some other line of investigating this. This started in Nov 07, I started having headaches every nite that start at about the same time every night- this has continued to this day. This in itself is bizarre. Its always on the right side and can extend to the other side of my head but not usually. Sometimes the area is sensitive to touch and the area around my eye feels full and swollen but doesn't look it. I also have dejavu and sometimes feel as though I'm altered.
So far they have found a 2.3 mm aneurysm behind my left eye and a right sided pituitary microadenoma. I've seen a neurologist, endocrinologist, neurosurgeon and will be seeing a opthalmologist and a new neurologist soon. I've read that even smaller aneurysm's can rupture so am a bit concerned with the continued headaches and sharp thunder clap headaches I get. Basically, all the medical professionals are saying both the aneurysm and the pituitary tumor are too small to be causing my symptoms - I don't know that I agree, it just seems to be that if something is growing where it isn't suppose to that some of us will be affected outside of the bell curve thingy. I do have one other thing that came up on MRI that hasn't been addressed by anyone so am hoping it will provide answers. I think there are some questions in there...if not then this is a tiny introduction into my life.

I am glad to have found this forum and look forward to interacting with you all. All this medical stuff aside I am pretty darn blessed though sometime hard to recognize when you don't feel well.

I can't comment on your annie... but I have a short comment about the pituitary.

Usually doctors leave them alone unless:
1) if it is secreting large amounts of hormones they typically remove it.
(each person secretes different ratios of hormones and there is no general
comment about each type)
Also these are very common, and are found by accident up to 20% on general autopsies. Many people can have them and not even know it.
Use of some drugs like Risperdal has been shown to cause them.

2) if it grows it will start to push on one or both optic nerves, and then you can have vision changes. They will remove a pituitary adenoma at this point also.

Thanks for your response - Yeah the docs say its too small (5mm plus a couple of cysts) to do anything so its a wait and see with it. I go back in in a year for another MRI. In the mean time my symptoms are increasing.....I've always had the eye pain and pressure since the headaches started but lately its acutally getting worse. The left and right sides of my head don't feel the same at all

It'll be a nice day when they figure out what causes these things.

Have you heard from anyone that the size of the pituitary tumor doesn't matter? Oh, and is there a place on here to discuss pituitary tumors?
