Hi all,
my name is Roberta, am 40 years young, have three teenage sons,
from june last year i have been looking after my father who has lung cancer
secondary in the liver and bones, and my mother who has lot's of illnesses too many to mention,

i had a subrachnoid anurisium 9th dec, and had the coiling procedure to repair it, for the past three year i have had bouts of migraines, severly high blood pressure, stiff neck, i attend hypertension clinic regulary, i had a stent inserted to my kidney artery to try reduce the b.p, in october, i have no memory of first 2 weeks n hospital, i do remember the lumbar puncture's and am thankful to still be the way i was before it happened only i get very tired and still suffer headaches and backache controlled by painkillers. i also noticed my legs get very sore, is this due to what happened??

am a very active person always helping others, still trying to look after my parents, but not doing as much, why do i feel as though i am letting my parents down, when i leave to go home.

By the sounds of it you have got a lot on your plate with your parents, not to mention your recovery from the coiling, you did not mention if you had a rupture or not? If you did the recovery is slower and lots of rest is needed. Is there another family member that can take over helping your parents, you really need to focus on yourself right now, you have been through alot and need to rest and recover. I had leg pain also after my surgery and I was told it was due to muscle weakness from laying in bed for almost a month after the rupture and surgery, with mild exercise you should feel better or ask the doc to order some Physical Therapy for you. I wish you all the best in your recovery and remember to focus on yourself to get the best recovery

Roberta, Like Ruth said sounds like you have a lot going on,I also had a coil a clip and a stroke a month after surgery. I also have a mother and brother who are both very ill and when I go down the house to help them it knocks me out.I end up getting headaches,foot-drop,slurring and sick. I'm not the strong person I was before the Annie's as much as I try to be I'll never be that person again.
Ruth and I keep in contact everyday along with 12 others who have been through this. We after years still deal with these things so don't feel alone. We do the best we can with what we have but a time comes when we have to see back and take care of ourselves. I have a sister who lives close to my mom & brother who takes on most of this. Do you have anyone that can help? I know how hard it is and I also know the feeling of letting them down.I April my mom broke her knee..well I ran around doing so much, even trying to lift her that I ended up in the Hosp. with stroke like symptoms again. So now I just tell them I'll do what I can and I set one or two day's a week to go down and clean etc. That's all I can handle and they understand.

Thanx for your reply and caring words.
yer it was a rupture in a coma for three day's and my memory of the hospital is well to say the least is very little, as for other family members my sister helps out and did a grand job when i was in hospital, but now has to return to work.
