Hello Eva I just saw this and will use it for support and as a reminder as well - I had a ruptured brain aneurysm May 9 2012 - I am recovering from emergency surgery that followed and have another surgery to replace the bone flap and angiogram in July. This was all very sudden and I am only now beginning to come to terms with what happened and where and how to go from here. Also so tired - Trying to stay positive too - this site and others like you are a way to find support and stay positive thank you for writing. Briar

Thank you so much for this. I copied this to MS Word and am going to print it out when I get some more ink for my mom, her therapists, and her doctors. She had an aneurysm on 6/9/16. Our local hospital doesn't have neurological facilities so she was transferred to our closest Level 1 trauma center, which is about an hour away. She had emergency brain surgery to put an external drain in, then they coiled the aneurysm. One ICU stay, one setback, another ICU stay, then finally 2 nights in a step-down unit, she was transferred to a rehab facility in out home town on 6/28. She still wants to sleep a lot but she is easily roused at mealtimes and when it is time for therapy, unless she has had a horrible headache and has had to have a pain pill. I know it will be a long road ahead of us, but this letter reminded me why it will be.
